Meet the Team

 

DOMENIC IERFINO

Domenic Ierfino was born and raised in Montreal, Canada in 1966. His parents immigrated from Reggio Calabria, Italy in the 1950s. Domenic moved to Rhode Island in 1988 and began his first business venture as a purchaser, salesman and co-owner of D&S Fine Italian Food Imports. He went on to start La Piccola Italia Cafe in 1989. He also managed the Italo-American Club in Providence from 1996 to 1998. Since 1996 he has been the executive chef and co-owner of Via Roma Banquets and Catering.

In 1997, Domenic was awarded Chef of the Year for New England by the Chaine Des Rotisseaurs Society. He is a member of several organizations including, the Restaurant Association, Providence/Warwick Conventions Bureau, Rhode Island Hospitality Association, and the Federal Hill Commerce Association.

ROSANNA IERFINO GRILLO

Rosanna Ierfino Grillo was born in Montreal Canada from Southern Italian immigrant parents. She along with her sibling was raised not as Canadians, but as Southern Italians with all their traditions and customs. In 1981, she left her hometown of Montreal and settled in Providence. She worked as an assistant for a large International wholesale food business and then opened her first business with husband Sisto on Federal Hill in 1984 called Roma Food.

Although deeply rooted and interested in the family businesses, Rosanna’s passions also include teaching Foreign Languages at a Catholic school and she is the Executive Director of the Scalabrini Dukcevich Center in Providence which offers educational, medical and social services to the Community.



 


 

 

SUZANN IERFINO

Suzann Ierfino was born and raised in Providence, RI. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and went on to receive her paralegal certificate from Roger Williams University. She has worked as a paralegal in various law firms such as David E. Maglio & Associates and Decof & Decof. Suzann is the wife to Domenic and helps in the everyday operation of Roma.
